Q: What is the purpose of the grant? A: As part of a large-scale plan to reduce unemployment, government agencies reserve money for W2 employees of small businesses. The goal is to provide high-quality training through accredited colleges. The higher the quality of our work force, the greater retention and the more hireable the employees become.
Q: What is NuMinds Enrichment? A: NuMinds (short for NuMinds Enrichment, LLC) is a team of education experts. We were founded in 2013 and have delivered thousands of hours of training to teachers around the world. Sarah Scrivens is our lead expert and trainer in Early Child development.
Q: Are you a government agency? A: No. We are only trainers working with colleges to deliver high-quality professional learning. This website is our way of sharing the opportunity with you and your team.
Q: Do I pay anything to NuMinds or Sarah Scrivens? A: No. If you are eligible for the grant, you won't pay anything. The grant covers the cost of training, including the presenter, handouts, supplies, etc.
Q: How is the training paid for? Does the center receive money? A: The grant monies are distributed directly to the college. The funds cover the cost of training. That's it. There is no money out-of-pocket nor money earned for the childcare center--just high-quality training, 100% subsidized.
Q: Can I select the training topic, time, and location? A: Yes! Our team has created seven courses that intentionally uplevel your employees in required areas (such as the minimum standards--see the full catalog for details). As for time and location, we will work with you to either provide the training on-site, at our event center in Richardson, or virtually.
Q: How long does the entire process take? A: Checking for eligibility (Step One) is a self-guided survey, and it only takes 2-3 minutes. When you're ready to complete the application (Step Two), you choose a 30 minute meeting on our calendar. You can even preview the form and gather information by downloading the file below. Receiving approval from the government agency (Step Three) can take 1-3 weeks. Once approved, the training can happen immediately. We recommend planning for the training at least one month in advance.
Q: What information will you be requesting? A: We are a group of education experts and trainers working with local colleges. We do NOT want to collect any private data (such as social security numbers , date of birth, etc.). During the application process, we will need to verify that you are a tax-paying childcare center and that your employees are W2. This requires your childcare license number, Texas Workforce Commission number, and the titles of your W2 staff (for example, director, teacher, assistant, etc.). You can download the exact Excel file we use by selecting the Green X icon below. Please note. Once approved, the government agency WILL request private data, but this will come directly to you through a verified email and a secure file. Again, our team of trainers DO NOT WANT access to any private data.
